1. Information the app accesses
Camera and selected photos
With your permission, Crib Calc can access the device camera and photos you select so it can recognize playing cards. Camera frames and selected images are analyzed on your device using Apple vision technologies and the app's bundled machine-learning model. They are not uploaded to us, stored in an account, or used for advertising.
Locally stored app information
Crib Calc stores completed hands, calculated scores, hand dates, crib and dealer selections, training results, leaderboard initials, and the free-scan counter locally on your device. This information supports score history, training, the local leaderboard, and purchase access.
Purchase information
Apple processes the optional one-time in-app purchase. Crib Calc checks Apple's StoreKit service to determine whether unlimited scans are unlocked. We do not receive or store your payment-card number, Apple Account password, or billing credentials.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not collect account credentials, precise location, contacts, health information, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity through the app. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
3. How information is used
Information processed by the app is used only to:
- recognize cards and calculate cribbage scores;
- display local hand history and score breakdowns;
- operate timed training and the local leaderboard; and
- manage the three-scan trial and unlimited-scan purchase.
4. Your choices, retention, and deletion
Camera access can be changed at any time in your device settings. Photo access occurs only when you choose a photo through the system picker.
Hand-history entries remain on your device until you delete them from the History screen or remove the app. Other local information, including leaderboard records and the trial counter, can be removed by deleting the app. Because this information is not transmitted to us, we cannot retrieve, export, or delete it remotely.
Purchase records are maintained by Apple under your Apple Account. You can review purchases, request eligible refunds, and manage your Apple Account through Apple's services.
5. Service providers
Apple provides camera and photo permissions, on-device system frameworks, app distribution, and StoreKit purchase processing. Apple handles information under its own privacy terms.
Cloudflare hosts this legal website. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare may process standard request information such as IP address, device and browser details, request time, and security signals to deliver and protect the site. We do not add advertising cookies or analytics scripts to this website.
6. Security
App records are stored within the app's device storage and benefit from protections provided by iOS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but limiting app information to the device substantially reduces the information transmitted to us.
7. Children's privacy
Crib Calc does not require an account and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe information has been provided to us outside the app by a child, contact us so we can address the request.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
